On paper, it sounds like a pretty inspired idea. Four French girls inspired by the Strokes, Blondie, and the Ramones playing peppy pop-punk. The Plastiscines are those girls, and while their tight, tough sound is nice enough and their voices are suitably sweet and sassy, in practice the idea doesn't work as well as one might hope. The songs are only pleasant and the performances are merely good. Fans of the Strokes may find this to be of interest, as might pop-punk diehards looking for some French flavor.
