March 15, 2008: This album is decent, I guess. The production is better than the black album, and it appears they'd gotten the melodic thing down a bit better. What I can't decide is which overpowers this album more : laziness or a sheer lack of focus. The songs are overrun with much-recycled blues riffs (and boring ones, at that), typical pop rock song structure, and rambling ideas. This album, barring a couple tracks, doesn't have much life in it. It's ok, but not great.
