The Best of John Denver Live captures the singer at his charity Wildlife Concert in 1995. Denver runs through many of his best-known songs ("Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Rocky Mountain High," "Sunshine on My Shoulders," "Annie's Song") as well as two songs ("I'm Sorry," "I Think I'd Rather Be a Cowboy") that he previously had not recorded. It's a pleasant enough record, but the performance isn't particularly noteworthy, and even collectors will find it rather inconsequential. Rodney Batdorf, All Music Guide

February 26, 2000: If you seen the Wild Life Concert You know that he was at his best, strong andwonderful. It's to bad that (For You) was not onthis album it was unforgetable.

January 31, 2000: This CD has the best of John Denver singing his heart out for an audience, all of my favorites were here, and it sounds great. I would recommend this to any John Denver fans.
