About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Like any of the Bob Carlisle discs to follow in the wake of "Butterfly Kisses," Butterfly Kisses & Bedtime Prayers is a collection tied together by a vague theme linked to the hit single. This time, the album is comprised of newly recorded lullabies and children's prayers, which are all narrated by children. Butterfly Kisses & Bedtime Prayers is designed to help children learn how to pray, and it succeeds to a certain extent (although it would seem that children would be better off learning to pray from their parents, not a record). Nevertheless, the album is a rousing success on one level -- it provides a nice, soothing collection of glossy soft-pop songs with a religious undercurrent that will provide nice background music for sleeping children. December 11, 2009: This is an excellent Cd for newborns to grade schoolers. My child was born with over-active nervous system disorder and her Neurologist suggested this CD as thereapy for her to help when she became over loaded, it was very benifical. It is also good for helping calm a child or adult for bedtime. Years later my Neurologist suggested the CD to help slow my heart rate during severe migraine attacks and to help reduce the pain to let me sleep. It works.

May 12, 2003: I received this CD as a gift when my first child was born 5 years ago. I still sing many of the lullabies to her and also to her little sister who is now 2. I love the arrangements of old favorites e.g., "Rock-a-Bye Baby" as well as songs new to me, e.g., "Before I Knew Your Name," which turned out to be quite appropriate for our second child as she was 5 days old before she was officially named! My 5-year-old sometimes sings the lullabies like "Hush-A-Bye" to her little sister. This is a wonderful gift (I have also given it to new parents), and the songs are soothing and easy to sing from memory to your little ones.
