About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

This follow-up to the righteous and soulful Winter In America LP continues with the solid, decidedly left-of-center jazz-R&B that made him a cult figure throughout the '70s. This output, with the opening meditation of "Offering" and the right-on "Ain't No Such Thing as Superman," solidifies Heron's place in the pantheon of jazz poets. Dig the recited (possibly improvised) live take of "Pardon Our Analysis," a follow-up to his seminal "H2O Blues." And this reissue features four unreleased tracks, including a live medley of "The Bottle/Guan Guanco." Tim Sheridan, All Music Guide

September 10, 2002: Gil Scott not only a musican, poet, visionary. But a person with deep feelings and roots. Yes I said roots. He lives his music and his music is you. The times may have changed but nothing else has. It still isn't we the people. It's ya'll the people. Wake UP listen. Remember Billy Green is dead. There is one thing I can say is thank you for bring the late 60's and early 70's music back. But shame on you for calling them just released. I'm not angry, just disappointed. Because I tried for year to get these very albums but you wouldn't stock them. No one could even fing them in you catalog until recently. Shame on you America for just reconizing a great man. Those of you who remember. PLEASE play Gil Scott for everyone you know from the youngest to the oldest. Because somw how Black America and Minorities forgot who they are and where they have been.
