September 25, 2006: I happened to catch Ashton Allen giving a one man performance in the music department of our local Barnes & Noble a few months ago and wound up walking out with the CD-paid for of course. "Dewdrops" hasn't left my Cd changer since. The album has something you don't hear much of anymore in pop music-REAL INSTRUMENTS. While staying contemporary, "Dewdrops" also invokes memories of the Beatles, Chicago, Richard Carpenter, and Stealers Wheel.

November 28, 2005: I did'nt want to listen to the comparasions between Ashton Allen and artists like Nick Drake and Elliott Smith, but after listening to this album i realized the hype is accurate. This is a trip through struggling life with ups, downs, twists, turns, and an elegance that naturally arrives when Ashton starts to sing in his subtle yet revealing tone. The songs are true and beautiful from music to lyrics, it will move you and relate to you in many different ways everytime you listen to the album in its entire form. It is an album, not an album with one or two great songs and the rest filler, a increasingly rare trait in today's music scene.
