About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

On her soulful debut, Your Woman, R&B newcomer Sunshine Anderson warms listeners with a rich soprano reminiscent of Mary J. Blige's (particularly on the hip-hop soul-laced “Better Off”). Although the South Carolina native sounds nothing like her quirky, bohemian-soul manager and mentor, Macy Gray, Anderson has her own distinct appeal. The disc’s opening interlude proclaims: “Everybody needs a little sunshine…to brighten up your day.” Whether she’s sharing a tale of heartbreak with her sister-friends on the kick-your-triflin’-man-to-the-curb anthem “Heard It All Before” or offering a forward invitation to a potential suitor on the bluesy “Lunch and Dinner,” this around-the-way girl spreads her ray of light and shows that she’s Everywoman. February 18, 2002: I think Sunshine Anderson definately has talent, her songs speak the truth. I can't tell you how much I relate to this album. Especially ''Heard it all before'' I'm sure alot of people can relate. That one song alone got me thru so much, especially with my Boo. What can I say, can't live with them, cant live without them. 'But your lies ain't workin, look who's hurtin now, see I had to shut you down!!'' ha ha ha

November 11, 2001: Love to death the song ''Heard it all Before.'' This song, in itself, makes me give this entire CD a rating of 5
