This two-CD modern worship collection is a veritable praise & worship greatest hits, collecting 23 of the genre's best-known songs, many by the artists and worship leaders who first made them famous. Anyone who has been to a contemporary church service in the past five years will be familiar with such songs as "Lord I Lift Your Name On High," "Better Is One Day," "God of Wonders," and the title track, "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever." Danielle Young of Caedmon's Call, Sonicflood, Matt Redman, and Delirious are among the best-known artists included here. But there are some surprises: Perhaps in an effort to appeal to young fans, this project uses Rebecca St. James' cover of "Above All," as opposed to the Michael W. Smith version that ruled the charts last year. While MercyMe earned Dove Awards for their composition "I Can Only Imagine," the Worship Together collection uses a version recorded by lesser-known Texas singer-songwriter Rita Springer. These songs are so ingrained in the CCM community that you can find most of them on virtually every praise & worship project released in the past few years. But for newcomers, Worship Together is the only collection you'll need. Lisa Zhito, Barnes & Noble
