About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Christian pop superstar Michael W. Smith leads a vigorous and uplifting worship session on this follow-up to his platinum 2001 release, Worship. On Worship Again all but two tracks were recorded live in Louisville, Kentucky, before a crowd of 11,000. The audience is very much a part of this recording, as they sing along with Smith and add their energy to the worship experience. Encompassing 14 tracks, Worship Again covers a lot of territory, thankfully none of it well worn. Smith maintains a freshness and integrity to his brand of worship, even when leading the crowd through a familiar song such as Rich Mullins's "Step By Step." With Smith at the piano and a 14-piece band and choir backing him, the music is rich and evocative, weaving a tapestry of emotions from reverence to love and joy. There is a theatricality to worship music, and one such highlight is "I See You," in which the audience engages in call-and-response with Smith. The two studio songs offered here are a duet with Amy Grant, "Lord Have Mercy" (a more powerful live version, sans Grant, is also offered), and "Here I Am to Worship." Closing this collection is Smith's patriotic composition, "There She Stands," a tear-jerker that captures the sentiment behind the past year's flag-waving. Worship Again is another monumental achievement from an enduring talent. Lisa Zhito, Barnes & Noble

July 24, 2003: Michael W. Smith's latest album Worship Album is many praise songs to God. It is a contemporary cd that will have you lifting your voice to Him. It includes three studio versions including Lord Have Mercy with Amy Grant. If you enjoy praising the King then this is a wonderful album to own.
