Editorial Reviews

One of the more anxiously awaited revivals to hit the Great White Way, Wonderful Town brings back to Broadway one of the great successes from the songwriting team of Leonard Bernstein and Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Adapted from the play My Sister Eileen, Wonderful Town was one of the major hits of the 1953 theatrical season. The DRG album of the current Broadway revival features the original score as interpreted by the acclaimed Tony Award winner Donna Murphy, who leads a sterling cast. Barnes & Noble

June 21, 2008: Back in 10th grade, our school's Drama Club took a field trip to Hattiesburg, MS to see "Wonderful Town", and I loved it. I'm in twelfth grade now, and when I saw this at B&N, I got excited and instantly bought it. Listening to it makes me feel like I'm back at the theatre watching it all over again. This show is simply wonderful and so much fun to listen to. Nobody could have made a better Ruth than Donna Murphy. She's a hoot to listen to "especially when she sings One Hundred Easy Ways". The show has a great original score that will have you swingin' as if you were back in the 1930's. If you love musicals, this will make a good addition to your collection.
