The fourth and final CD in Rounder's Library of Congress series has the later recordings from this extensive program, including two numbers from six months after the original discussions had concluded. Jelly Roll Morton, who is heard very briefly on guitar on "L'il Liza Jane," takes fine piano solos on such numbers as "Freakish," "Pep," "Ain't Misbehavin'" and a medley of Spanish-tinged songs including "The Crave." This fascinating series (Rounder pitch-corrected the recordings) is recommended to collectors of early jazz. Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
