Editorial Reviews

For those who have been fans of John Fahey's instrumental Christmas recordings for solo guitar, this Windham Hill compilation may provide further enjoyment. Tuck Andress, Will Ackerman, Steve Morse, Alex de Grassi, Steve Erquiaga, and others provide a gorgeous sounding collection of holiday fare, equally divided between sacred and secular tunes. Again, the audio is stellar, and the playing, with the possible exception of the hot-dogging Morse, serves the music, rather than showcasing the individual guitarist's gift.
