About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Under the guidance of producer Rick Rubin, Tom Petty turns in a stripped-down, subtle record with Wildflowers. Coming after two albums of Jeff Lynne-directed bombast, the very sound of the record is refreshing; Petty sounds relaxed and confident. Most of the songs are small gems, but a few are a little too laid-back, almost reaching the point of carelessness. Nevertheless, the finest songs here ("Wildflowers," "You Don't Know How It Feels," "It's Good to Be King," and several others) match the quality of his best material, making Wildflowers one of Petty's most distinctive and best albums. March 17, 2003: This album takes you on a ride from the first track, "Wildflowers", to the last, "Wake Up Time". It's full of beautiful guitar-work and heartfelt lyrics with some fun to sing along with ones, "You Don't Know How It Feels", to just plain good rockers "You Wreck Me". Great album-if you're a fan of Tom Petty or just love good music, this is a must.

May 08, 2000: I personally thought that this was a good title. It has a good outlook on life and the lyrics are awesome. Especially the one where he says 'Its good to meet girls.' -Joe Friday
