Editorial Reviews

On paper, Who Made Who is just a cheap soundtrack to a cheap movie (Stephen King's disastrous Maximum Overdrive), but it's actually much more than that. It serves as a ripping AC/DC retrospective, tearing through such classics as "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "For Those About to Rock," adding the pounding title track to the band's canon, and rescuing overlooked songs like "Sink the Pink" from otherwise mediocre albums. It's not a perfect retrospective -- there's no "Back in Black," "Highway to Hell," or "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" -- but what is here is terrific. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

February 17, 2009: This has some Great AC/DC hits! I would recommend this and Razor's Edge to either start out or finish up your AC/DC collection.

July 14, 2000: Forgetting for a moment how mediocre the movie was, the soundtrack to ''Who Made Who'' is superb! While not a conventional Greatest Hits album, this compilation covers a wide (and interesting) range of AC/DC tunes. In a new format and context from their original albums, the more familiar songs seem fresh and rejuvinated; ''For Those About to Rock'', which ends the album, is particularly powerful. Among the new tracks recorded specifically for the soundtrack, the title song and the instrumental ''DT'' are infectiously catchy, and hard hitting. Blended in with the staple hits and new tracks are a few older, more obscure tunes that add some interesting flavor. ''Ride On'' is one of the slowest, most low-key AC/DC songs I have ever heard, yet still manages to give you a slighly menaced feeling, as if the the band were just a bit dangerous. If I had to have just one AC/DC album in my collection (fortunately, I don't!), this would be it!
