About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

This Return to Forever set finds guitarist Al DiMeola debuting with the pacesetting fusion quartet, an influential unit that also featured keyboardist Chick Corea, electric bassist Stanley Clarke and drummer Lenny White. On this high energy set, short interludes separate the main pieces: "Vulcan Worlds," "The Shadow of Lo," "Beyond the Seventh Galaxy," "Earth Juice" and the lengthy "Song to the Pharoah Kings." Acoustic purists are advised to avoid this music, but listeners who grew up on rock and wish to explore jazz will find this stimulating music quite accessible. Scott Yanow, All Music Guide

May 03, 2008: Well, Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke are the only members that founded Return To Forever with the previous members, but this album debuts the classic lineup or jazz/rock lineup, however the fans would consider this lineup, because not only Lenny White is the drummer, but for guitar enthusiasts, this album marked the debut of one of the great guitarists, Al Di Meola. As for this year (2008), Return To Forever is reuniting once again, and the last time, something like this happened, was a track on Chick Corea's solo album called "Compadres", and that was the last time, Return To Forever was reunited. As for this album, fans of Return To Forever will indeed enjoy this album from start to finish, and also would pump them up for the reunion tour of this year (2008).
