Director Simon West's uninspired remake of the 1979 suspense classic When a Stranger Calls made little impact in 2006. Composer James Dooley brings a palpable amount of suspense to the thriller, but the soft piano motif enveloped in wave after wave of dissonant strings is such a common approach that hiring somebody to write it actually feels redundant.
