About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Instead of trying to compete with a newer, fashion-conscious pop marketplace, Linda Ronstadt removed herself from the rat race, recording an album of traditional pop standards with Nelson Riddle. Ronstadt's voice isn't always showcased to a fine effect on these songs, but the record is an interesting change of pace. And it would have been more interesting if she hadn't repeated its formula on her next two records. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

September 16, 2008: I bought this album on cassette when it first came out. I still play it and the music is haunting and special. I plan to buy it on CD. Linda's voice is so clear and pure, and Nelson Riddle's orchestra provides a perfect background. I especially like to play this music in my car as I am driving through beautiful scenery because the music is so mellow and uplifting. I highly recommend this album for anyone who loves the old classics that Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, and others sang with a big band behind them.
