July 11, 2004: I have never purchased too many tribute CD's, and purchased this on only because I saw that Pittsburgh's best kept secret, Tony Janflone Jr. was playing guitar on it in Rock Me Baby with Michel'le doing the vocals. Time for the rest of the world to figure out that Tony Janflone Jr. is is the next guitar great. Anyway, I am very pleased with the CD and it has some great tunes on it. It is certainly a CD worth purchasing. Very well made and fun to listen to.

June 21, 2004: I just picked up this cd & must say "HOLY COW!" This is the first tribute cd I've ever purchased & it truly is incredible. I was amazed with Tiffany's powerful vocals on the classic "Whats Love Got To Do With It?". Richard Kendricks take on "Better Be Good To Me" is rock solid. Deniece Williams on "What You Get Is What You See" is spot on. Darlene Love's POWERHOUSE trademark vocals are glorious on River Deep Mountain High. Instead of staying true to the originals, a few of a few of the songs were re-invented with wonderous results. The first is "Thunderdome" by Jane Child. She, as the singer AND producer really funk-ed up the song & she made it her own. "I Dont Want To Fight" is re-interpreted as a pop rock song & strays from the originals R&B / Adult Contemporary feel. The music and production is awesome, however, it could have used a stronger singer. The only downfall with the album? Why is Nancy Kerrigan singing? When I listened to her sing "Simply The Best" I felt like I was watching one of the American Idol: Reject shows. Otherwise, a great feather in tribute to the big hat of Miss Tina Turner, rock legend.
