February 17, 2003: I haven't a clue what went through Ronnie Montrose's mind when his first two lp's exploded in America's face. Going from Edgar Winter's guitarist to dominant figure on the arena rock circuit in two years would of been way too much for most people. But the way I see it, Ronnie did a very nice job of keeping himself in charge. He recruited some nice help and showed us his writing skills had not dried up. His playing ability on "Warner Bros. Presents..." is just as enjoyable as his previous lp's. Bob James singing vocals was the perfect touch on songs like "Sailor", "Black Train", & "O Lucky Man". The only weakness I feel is in the production end, but easily overlooked. A real good follow up to the infamous 'Hager' stuff. Mood in the middle. Solid rock at both ends!
