About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

It's been a long, strange trip for Billy Ray Cyrus. The toast of '90s Nashville with his worldwide smash, "Achy Breaky Heart," the hunky-clunky heartthrob never recaptured that early peak despite a steady gig in the country arena. Then he did some acting, on screen and on TV, recorded a gospel album (the last refuge of the penitent former star), and in 2006 found himself a commodity once again, thanks to starring on a Disney Channel show with his daughter, Miley. All those roads traveled have conferred some kind of sagacity on Billy Ray, as he shares the mic with both George Jones and Loretta Lynn on "Country Music Has the Blues," and with surviving members of Lynyrd Skynyrd on "The Freebird Fell," and eulogizes NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt. On top of all that, he wants his mullet back! Long live Billy Ray! Mark Schwartz, Barnes & Noble

July 24, 2006: Love this cd! Billy Ray is back! from ballads to upbeat, this album has it all. "I love wouldn't be me", it's a beautiful ballad. My favorite song is the one he does with his daughter, Miley. It's called "Stand" and it's the best on the album. I just hope they release it, it would be a hit. The whole album is terrific.
