About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Given that Vovin sees yet another round of major changes in the Therion lineup, it's remarkable how consistent frontman Christofer Johnsson's vision remains from record to record. Cut with a symphony choir, this outing continues in the vein of the prior Theli, offering a rich and majestic sound a cut above the genre norm. Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

August 01, 2001: After having listened to Samael's album Passage, which I think is a decent album, but not great, I was kind of apprehensive listening to Vovin. I was literally prepared for an ''hour of sound and noise.'' God, was I ever wrong. In fact, I was totally wrong. From the first note to the last, it's an incredible album, one of few I've ever heard that I could listen to start to finish. The best cut is number six, ''Eye of Shiva.'' If Vovin is typical of what has been termed ''symphonic black metal,'' PLEASE GIVE ME MORE! I CAN'T GET ENOUGH!
