There's a relaxed feel of psychedelic rock in Summer Hymn's tradition of breezy folk. Continuing from their 7" on Made in Mexico, their debut album Voice Brother & Sister remains within the sensibilities of hazy pop that reflects an influence of Neil Young and Robert Wyatt. But the added lo-fi appeal of country results in a quiet but soothing package of whitish ballads and laid-back pop. Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
