July 25, 2009: Julian Bream gives us probably the best renditions of Hector Villa Lobos's works I've ever heard. In this CD Julian captures the pure essence and fill of the pieces, especially the preludes. Emotion runs from his fingertips with exact preciseness and beautiful interpretations. He never plays the same phrase the same way twice. He always plays the passage with a different emotion. Julian is one of the greats no doubt about it. This CD is awe inspiring as I take away a different experience every time I listen. Hope you enjoy and get something out of this review. One classical guitarist to another 5 stars.
