July 29, 2005: Ever since my English teacher introduced me to the song "Wild World", I have been listening to Cat Stevens. I was born in 1988 and I seem too young to listen to oldies but that's all I listen to. This is actually the first cd I bought from him. His music really gets to me when I feel unhappy. His lyrics have such powerful meaning that translate to what emotions Stevens felt through his music. My number one favorite film is Harold and Maude, which features popular hits from Stevens. This cd includes beautiful songs that I enjoy such as "The first cut is the deepest", "Father and Son", "Peace Train", etc. I am quite surprised that he became a Muslim and changed his name to Yusuf Islam. His voice is still genuine though. He was always searching for something more in life and that was peace and he found it. Cat Stevens will always stay as a legend and a talented guitarist and singer. If you are into 70's music then pick up The Very Best of Cat Stevens...His voice and music will never die.
