February 14, 2002: You wont want another recording once you have this. It is so very Itallian. Slow in tempo, but , full of hot passion. Plowright is the greatest Leonora. She is not heavy in voice as many of the italian singers of this role are , but is still rich and powerful in her delivery. She has a fresh and young sound here. Zancanaro is the other great singer here. He has a true itallianate voice full of passion and very musical.
