About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Velvet Darkness They Fear certainly has a distinctive sound, with Theatre of Tragedy's plodding goth-metal backing the almost death-metal rasp of Raymond Rohonyi and the feather-light Liv Kristine Espenas. However, the long songs tend to ramble a bit, and truth be told, neither vocalist seems especially powerful. All this is not to say that Theatre of Tragedy has no potential; they just haven't quite fulfilled it yet. Steve Huey, All Music Guide

September 24, 2001: Ignore the review from mister huey. You have to listen to this album a few times but after that it really gets to you. No weak songs. beautiful female vocals. agressive, but not too extreme male vocals. A lot of bands (like orphanage) are really ruined by ridiculous ugly grunts. a pity T.O.T. didn't continue the style of this album.
