Collectables' Up on the Roof/Under the Boardwalk contains two original early albums from the Drifters on one disc. Up on the Roof features Ben E. King on lead vocals; Under the Boardwalk features Johnny Moore on lead vocals. Both albums aren't just hits with filler, like many R&B albums of their era -- while they're not as strong as the justly famous singles, the album tracks are quite entertaining, resulting in a thoroughly enjoyable disc. Anyone who wants to dig deeper than the hits will enjoy this disc, even if the packaging and remastering could have been better. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
