The first volume in Ultra's rather popular Ultra Trance series, released in 2002 and mixed by David Waxman, is (much like the volumes that would follow) a patchy assortment of major anthems and non-descript fluff. Waxman keeps his ego out of the two-disc, 24-track sequence, allowing each selection a few minutes before discreetly moving on to the next one, so those who crave that happy medium, between having a smooth mix and the tracks in full, should be pleased. Some of the featured tracks include Underworld's "Two Months Off," 4 Strings' "Diving," Ferry Corsten's "Punk," and Marc et Claude's "Tremble." Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
