Editorial Reviews

Roland White has led relatively few recording dates during his long career in bluegrass, though it isn't for a lack of talent. Sticking exclusively to mandolin and lead vocals on this studio effort, the Nashville veteran explores a treasure trove of timeless material, such as Bill Monroe's "Toy Heart," Eddy Arnold's "I'll Hold You in My Heart (Till I Can Hold You in My Arms)," and Buck Owens' "Only You (Can Break My Heart)." His talented wife, Diane Bouska, provides the perfect harmony to his lead in "Talk to Your Heart" (with some superb dobro by Gene Wooten) and the oldie "Midnight." White is accompanied by a bevy of Nashville's finest musicians, including guitarist David Greer, fiddler Stuart Duncan, dobro player Gene Wooten, banjo player Richard Bailey, and bassist Gene Libbea, each of whom gels perfectly with the leader. White also contributed the lively instrumental "Gaieté Acadienne." Highly recommended. Ken Dryden, All Music Guide
