Editorial Reviews

Director Michael Bay's big-budget rendering of the '80s cartoon/department store Christmas heroes of the same name goes the superhero/comic book soundtrack route by releasing a separate compilation of songs that either appear in the film for a few seconds or not at all. Transformers: The Movie features HiM, Disturbed, Taking Back Sunday and the Used, all of whom are taking the highway to the Kenny Loggins danger zone with all of these "music inspired by" collections. Only the Goo Goo Dolls with their trademark mid-tempo balladry are able to penetrate the alt-metal/post-grunge gloom, providing the giant robots with a weepy American Idol-inspired, post-boot retrospective called "Before It's Too Late" that will find legions of new fans in the middle school slow dance circuit. February 02, 2008: I Loved this movie and my review of it and the guide is out there somewhere but the rockin' out tunes on this film were wonderful. Except the fact that some were pretty hard with the language. I like all of these songs but some are a little too inapropriate. Like, for example "Second to None." Has the S-word in it, and "Passion's Killing Floor" is very dark. This is Transformers, people, it's soposed to be clean. But overall most of the songs are sweet. I usually don't post my favorite but on this one i just have to. "This Moment" from Disturbed is pretty sweet. So buy this CD totally, but watch out for some bad stuff.
