On their third album, Traces of My Lipstick, Xscape pretty much follows the cue of their two earlier efforts, with only slightly diminished results. The group sounds as good as ever, bringing real soul and passion to their performances, but unfortunately much of their record consists of average, unremarkable material. There are enough strong songs (primarily the singles) to make the record enjoyable, but it simply doesn't have the same resonance as their two earlier efforts. Leo Stanley, All Music Guide

July 30, 2004: This CD is great and timeless!!! It is a great record filled with urban grooves and passion of soul music. the best CD of 1998 so far thanx to the hit singles from the LP.

November 14, 2001: I really like the group excape because of what they have accomplished. Their songs really makes you think. Especially the song ccalled ''Arms Of the One Who Loves You.'' The thing about them also that I adore is their effort of making their records. I like the fact that they have worked all through their highschool years and worked hard on making it big. That shows many memorable times. That really makes meh think of me also and my friends.It's really nice to know some people that worked hard on their record. I mean when they were still young. Making it big when your old is cool too but I like the idea where you you know that you have worked on things when you were still young but not too young where you can be in school. Like them, they went to Highschool and graduated. Their songs makes you think especially when it's what you called ''falling in Love.'' not all their songs is strong but some songs is strong enought to make up for the other songs that they have that is not very strong. That makes their CD. enjoyable. Their CD. has good love songs and also it doesn't always relate to just being in love but it also retlate to families. Like for example, when your away from your families.I also like the idea how they started singing in church because i like sining in church too. From there, they made it big and they also make gospel CD. I like them because of all the efforts that they have accomplished.__Mayannrose D. White
