About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Along with India, Victor Manuelle, and DLG, Marc Anthony changed the sound of salsa in the middle to late '90s by making it hard dance music once again. With modern production values and hints of hip-hop and other urban styles, he and his generation created the renaissance that defines salsa today. TODO A SU TIEMPO is an astute combination of pop and salsa. Marc Anthony doesn't improvise, but this exceptional album still swings with good songs and lots of raw power -- a good part of which comes from Anthony's voice, which has the force of a guided missile. Together with the hard salsa values of producer Sergio George, the album cooks, as on "Te Conozco Bien," where the choruses put forth melodies that hook the listener and set up Anthony for his lead vocals. With leading-man good looks -- Anthony was the star of Paul Simon's ill-fated Broadway musical, THE CAPEMAN -- and a modern ear, Anthony bridges the second- and third-generation Latin audience and their salsa idols. May 29, 2002: Marc Anthony and Sergio George did an awesome job in this album, they tried slow tropical rythms such as bachata and son (like that excellent song ''Vieja Mesa'') and also Salsa, as you can see on the slow romantic one ''Se me sigue olvidando'' and dancing song ''Nadie como ella''.By the way, the female voice in this album is Gabriela Anders, and she does have a captivating voice.
