Editorial Reviews

The soundtrack to the direct-to-video Disney movie Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure reflects the film's tale of a journey to a place north of Never Land with Celtic-inspired songs by singers from the studio's talent roster as well as performances by Celtic vocalists. Sentimental ballads and softly uplifting songs like "The Gift of a Friend" and "Take to the Sky" are a far cry from the Radio Disney fare that Demi Lovato and Jordan Pruitt usually sing, and while the addition of Celtic instruments like uilleann pipes doesn't always sound entirely convincing on these tracks, those pipes are still pretty. Méav Ní Mhaolchatha's "Where the Sunbeams Play" and "If You Believe" by Celtic Woman's Lisa Kelly add extra authenticity to the soundtrack, while Jordin Sparks' "Road to Paradise" and Jesse McCartney's "I'll Try" offer a softer take on Disney's pop sound. Jonatha Brooke's "It's Love That Holds Your Hand" is another highlight, adding to the feeling that this is a Disney soundtrack that has appeal for the whole family. Heather Phares, All Music Guide
