I can't believe my mind. George Harrison's estate finally released all the Warner Bros. albums, which were sought after Beatles fans. But in addition, the albums get the treatment that they deserve! First about the album: It's hard to believe that it took a triple album (All Things Must Pass) to prove that George Harrison had talent. But his talent slipped on subsequent albums, including the snooze-inducing Dark Horse. Despite illness and legal problems in 1976, Harrison picks up the reins and churns out of the finest albums of the 70's. Nearly every song is a masterpiece, and features good workmanship from David Foster, Emil Richards and Tom Scott (as well as a falsetto voice from Eric Idle). 33&1/3 is an absolutely lovely album that is probably good to play any time you are in a good mood. Now about the CD itself: Each of the Dark Horse albums were remastered to perfection. The booklets feature all the original artwork, as well as extra liner notes, lyrics and beautiful printing. The bonus tracks also make the CDs worthwhile purchasing. There's only one drawback: each CD is mastered with Capitol/EMI's new system of copy protection. I'm not one to copy CDs, because I think it steals more from the fun of collecting than it does from the artists itself. But if you have an mp3 player, don't worry. You can still rip the tracks onto your mp3 player, if you insert the disc in your CD burner (if you have one). All of this adds to a great album and a great reissue! Beatles fans, don't miss this one!
