About Kenny Lattimore

About Chanté Moore

Editorial Reviews

Despite their technically flawless vocals and striking good looks, Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore have failed to make it big as solo artists. Although Lattimore is best known for the wedding favorite "For You," and Moore scored with the celebratory ballad "Chante's Got a Man" (ironically written about her first husband, actor Kadeem Hardison), the newlyweds give their careers a much-needed makeover with their first album together. Things That Lovers Do -- a mostly-covers collection joining ten classic R&B love songs with two new songs co-written and produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis -- showcases Moore's Minnie Riperton–reminiscent pipes and Lattimore's pristine tenor. Highlights include saccharine-yet-stirring covers of Rene & Angela's "You Don't Have to Cry," Billy Preston and Syreeta Wright's "With You I'm Born Again," and the BabyfaceKaryn White duet "Love Saw It." Coinciding with the winter 2003 release of Things That Lovers Do, Moore and Lattimore embarked on an eight-city tour in a musical play of the same name. Move over, Ashford & Simpson (paid homage here with two covers, including the classic they penned for Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, "You're All I Need to Get By") -- there's a new dynamic soul duo in town. September 16, 2003: I love the arrangement and the artists, who had the courage to re-visit some great love songs that are just as fresh today as they were years ago. I could feel the passion in their lyrics. Both have great vocal ability like many others, but they gave us more than that with this album. It is fun, playful, serious, and very romantic. I could just sit back (or make love), all day long and listen to these songs over and over again and the music would add so much more to the experience. So what these are remakes of old songs. Chanti and Kenny just made them better and have given these songs new life for the younger generation to really experience what real love songs are all about. Bravo! To both of you and I pray you have the rest of your years together. Always know you have a friend in Georgia. I will always remember when we younger Chanti, you told all of us that you would be doing exactly what you are doing today. You go girl! With much love, a fan, and old friend of Chanti Moore and new friend to Kenny Lattimore. I am so very proud of you Chanti. Love and respect, your old friend, Tanya R. Wilson-Moody, (from San Diego, CA, St. Stephen's Church) tanya_moody@yahoo.com
