January 08, 2008: In a modern pop-opera style, Umbrellas of Cherbourg and Young Girls of Rochefort stand head and shoulders above any others of the type and are filled with delightful melody and romance. Michele Legrand is a masterful composer and his "You Must Believe in Spring", which Bill Evans and many others took up and immortalized in jazz recordings appeared here first. This is a must-have for any lover of great soundtracks, jazz, or 60's "pop".
