About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

One listen to the sophomore album from Destiny's Child, THE WRITING'S ON THE WALL, and it becomes crystal-clear that these four ladies from Houston are big TLC fans. This full-length might as well have been called "Scrubs: The Album," as Le Toya, Beyoncé, Kelly, and La Tavia let loose on the downside of relationships and no-good men. Those enamored with the group's hit single, "Bills, Bills, Bills," will no doubt gravitate to "Bug a Boo" and "Hey Ladies," which also take the opposite sex to task. It isn't until the disc's end that Destiny's Child finally let their guard down, on the impassioned ballad "Stay." Musically richer than their 1998 self-titled debut (featuring the Wyclef Jean-produced hit "No, No, No, Part II"), THE WRITING'S ON THE WALL lets everyone know that Destiny's Child are growing up -- and they're crazy, sexy, and cool. Elliott Wilson, Barnes & Noble
