Editorial Reviews

In some ways, this could have been a Judas Priest album. Since it was the first disc that Rob Halford worked on after his extended tenure in that group, that is certainly understandable. Clearly, he was most likely still aligned in that musical vein and a lot of the sounds here represent that fact. However, there are definitely some differences. First, you can hear a rawer, almost punk-ish aggressive texture on much of the material ("Nailed to the Gun" comes to mind). Next, Halford shows a wider range of vocal styles here than he did with Priest. In fact, there are several points where he sounds like Alice Cooper, and he tries his hand at the more guttural death metal vocal style. The lyrical content on the album has a maturity that Priest seldom, if ever, achieved as well. The recitation of the First Amendment during the title track is brilliant. In some ways, it's too bad that this group only lasted a couple of years. They had a lot of potential. The stunning power ballad "For All Eternity" alone is worth the price of admission for this part of their voyage. Gary Hill, All Music Guide

November 07, 2005: I am a big Judas Priest fan especially Rob Halford, I always thought that dude could sing... Unfortunately before Judas Priest was even a band Halford was not the original singer... The original singer was Al Atkins and I believe he was fired from Priest, later Atkins joined up with the ex- Iron Maiden guitarist and made another band called "The Denial".... Over all Priest was doing good with Halford and I don't know why he left... probably due to the fact people found out he was gay... I don't know but after he left he formed "Fight" and I own both albums which I think today are rare to find (since Halford returned to Priest) but these albums are good, you can definitely say after leaving Priest, and creating "Fight" Halford jumped a couple levels. Judas Priest is classic Heavy Metal and Fight is Thrash/Speed Metal... You can hear the big adjustment, its more like Metallica or Megadeth with Halford's singing I guess it was out with the old in with the new for Halford... Unfortunately Fight only made two albums then I think after that Rob returned to Priest or he made a solo record... These albums are very good records and I strongly doubt you'll find them just going to a local electronics store and digging deep through CD's to find them... I suggest you go to your nearest Barnes and Noble and pre-order them or buy them online... And trust me if you're expecting classic Judas Priest let me warn you that you are wrong. But if you like Thrash and Speed Metal bands such as Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, and Metallica, Fight might just be right for you, if you don't listen to any of the bands I have mentioned, chances are you won't like Fight...
