Don Williams' easy flowing and folky approach to country, really as much pop in execution as it was down-home, gave him an impressive run of chart hits, particularly in the 1970s, when his versions of 1973's "The Shelter of Your Eyes," 1974's "We Should Be Together" and "I Wouldn't Want to Live If You Don't Love Me," and 1978's "Tulsa Time" were chewing up the radio waves. This set of MCA sides includes all of the above tunes plus other mellow gems like "I Believe in You" and makes a nice introduction to the singer's peak commercial years. December 01, 2008: I am a big fan of Don Williams in the 70's and played my old
cassette over and over. I am so glad that it is now in a CD
so I can continue to play it over and over into the 2008 era.
His deep voice and songs like "I Believe in You" and "You're
my Best Friend" touch my heart as I found my true love in 1976.
My Husband & I are still believing in each other -- 31 years later.
