The first of five Hindsight LPs to document Dorsey's radio transcriptions, this set gives a good all-around picture of his orchestra shortly before it became a major commercial success. There are four vocals apiece by Helen O'Connell and Bob Eberly along with eight fine instrumentals and, although Dorsey (on alto and clarinet) is the only distinctive soloist, the music overall is first-class swing and dance music.
