About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

The first single-disc Jackson 5 collection to take full advantage of the compact-disc medium, The Ultimate Collection is certainly the ultimate for any but the most hardcore fans. Ranging from 1969's "I Want You Back" to 1975's "I Am Love, Pts. 1-2," these 21 tracks include each of the group's hits, among them "ABC," "The Love You Save," "I'll Be There," "Never Can Say Goodbye," "Maybe Tomorrow," "Lookin' Through the Windows," "Get It Together," and "Dancing Machine." And unlike previous hits collections (barring only the multi-disc Anthology), there's plenty of space for more material: a few solo hits from Michael ("Got to Be There," "Rockin' Robin," "Just a Little Bit of You") and Jermaine ("Daddy's Home"), plus a pair of previously unreleased tracks ("It's Your Thing," a slowed-down Isleys cover, and "The Life of the Party"). Despite a few classic albums, the Jackson 5 were singles artists first and foremost, and their two-minute blasts of rhythm and energy are best-heard on a compilation. The best of that lot is this one. John Bush, All Music Guide

November 28, 2009: There is no question that this J5 ultimate collection is a must-have treasure for any Motown, Jackson 5, or Michael Jackson fan!!!! Simply a piece of history! This is the kind of real music that we need to bring back now, before it's too late. This music is the soundtrack of our lives, and we need to show the new generations of today what real music is!!!! The untimely, priceless songs that simply fill you with joy and memories and never get old. We need to educate the new generation of today of what great music is, and what MUSIC is in the first place! I get very emotional and serious when it comes to this topic because music is simply my life! And it does extremely anger me that we have our children listening to Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Lady Gaga, etc. and they think that it is great music!!!!! It's not right! These artists produce horroble and pitiful excuses for anything music-related!!!! Am I the only one who feels this way? Am I the only one utterly disgusted and grossed out by what "music" has turned into? WE CANNOT LET THIS BE! WE NEED THE MUSIC BACK! BRING BACK THE MUSIC! Listen to some Motown, and you'll maybe understand what music is. I mean listen to the old Motown stuff. The Jackson 5, The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder.... take a good listen to the classics and maybe you'll be able to differentiate between the pitiful sounds of today and REAL music.....
