About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Telluride Sessions, the only album from the bluegrass supergroup Strength in Numbers, is an off-the-cuff set of newgrass that demonstrates the considerable instrumental skill of each member. Fluctuating between jazzy experiments and straightforward bluegrass, the music on The Telluride Sessions is adventurous and unpredictable, revelaing more levels upon each listen. June 09, 2004: Due to the talent of this group, the CD may be listened with true pleasure by just about anyone - you, your child, your teenager, your mother. Sometimes melancholy, sometimes joyous - Bela Fleck, as always, is amazing (no-one plays banjo like this). The combined expertise of the group makes you just wish they could get back together again to create another beautiful work. I don't even like bluegrass or folk (labels under which this CD has been shuffled in the store from time to time) but this music is just so much more than that -- a mix of classical and jazz is more accurate. You cannot go wrong with this purchase; unless, of course, you are a Def Leppard fan.
