About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

The Storm Still Rages is nothing less than bluegrass artistry of the highest caliber. Vincent -- perhaps the most electrifying talent in the field -- and the stellar players in her band, the Rage, attack ballads, breakdowns, and blues with a ferocity born of a deep love of traditional styles and an understanding of their dramatic power. Vincent hammers that point home on "Is the Grass Any Bluer," a heartfelt account of Bill Monroe's continuing and pervasive influence on bluegrass music that gets extra liftoff from Vincent's clear voice soaring high over the rousing banjo work of Terry Adams and the strains of a pair of evocative fiddles. The standard "Driving Nails in My Coffin" offers a powerhouse up-tempo showcase for the band members' instrumental prowess. On the heartbreak side, Vincent's aching voice pleads in all the right places on "I'm Not Over You" and "My Sweet Love Ain't Around." Gospel fans get their fix on "You Don't Love God if You Don't Love Your Neighbor," a guitar-driven toe-tapper featuring brisk, tight ensemble vocalizing, and the breathtaking "When the Angels Sing," a mid-tempo affirmation of the rewards awaiting the faithful beyond this mortal coil, with Vincent's voice in full, high lonesome splendor. Listen, and listen again, because The Storm Still Rages will be yielding rewards aplenty years hence. David McGee, Barnes & Noble

July 08, 2005: Every song and I do mean every song on this CD is kick ass. I love Allison but Rhonda kicks it up a notch. Her musicians back her up and all are well known in their own right so if you want to tap your toes and sing along...get this CD. You'll be glad you did.
