Editorial Reviews

There have been many performances of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The Sound of Music, the most famous of which is the 1965 Julie Andrews/Christopher Plummer film version (which does not include all the songs from the stage musical). This particular album immortalizes the 2006 London Palladium cast and, although Connie Fisher adds her own touch to the character of Maria while keeping true to the original sound, Alex Hanson is not quite as satisfying as Captain Von Trapp. Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
