The title of his fourth album, The Senior, suggests that Ginuwine has graduated from Bachelor status to a more seasoned Casanova. Although the ingenious production of onetime Ginuwine mentor Timbaland is curiously absent from the disc -- as it was from his last album, 2001's The Life -- R. Kelly does a fine job picking up the slack on several tracks, including the party anthem "Hell Yeah." Like Usher, the platinum-selling Ginuwine is a multifaceted performer and heartthrob, and his fans are sure to be pleased with The Senior's signature love songs, such as "Stingy," reprised from the Barbershop soundtrack, and body-moving dance cuts, such as the explicit "Sex," featuring rapper Sole (with whom he has a child). After reemerging in the spotlight in 2002 thanks to collaborations with P. Diddy ("I Need a Girl Pt II") and Fat Joe ("Crush Tonight"), here Ginuwine enlists spirited guest shots from Snoop Dogg on "Get Ready" and Method Man on "Big Plans." Fiery, flirtatious, and fun, The Senior puts Ginuwine in the top percentile of R&B's class of 2003. LaShieka Purvis Barnes & Noble
