Editorial Reviews

The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch, the debut from Buffalo-based quartet Cute Is What We Aim For, is basically a product of the MySpace generation where hip self-assurance can lead to a record deal and a devoted fan base. And in the capable hands of producer Matt Squire (Northstar, Panic! at the Disco), bands like CIWWAF can be assured a polished album with catchy hooks and sweet melodies. One questions whether the band merely enjoys attempting cheeky doses of sarcasm or truly finds itself charming with lines like "I've got the gift of one liners/And you've got the curse of curves/And with this gift I compose words...are you perspiring from the irony or sweatin' to these lyrics?" CIWWAF also string along sentiments that often poke fun at their own existence and superficiality ("I spend more time in front of mirrors than any gent should/Because let's face it/One on one is more fun anyway"), and sharp scenester insight seems to be the point in the first place. ~ Corey AparMySpace generation where hip self-assurance can lead to a record deal and a devoted fan base. January 26, 2009: This is one of the best CD's that I have listened to in a long time. Lately, bands have been putting out CD's that they barley spent any time writing or recording. This is one record that you can actually listen to all of the songs instead of skipping over every other track. The Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch is a fun, upbeat record. It helps take your mind off all of the stresses of everyday life, and allows you to just enjoy the music. The CD is full of variety and everyone is sure to find a song that they love and can listen to over and over. If you are looking for a CD that you can dance and have fun to, then this is the record for you! I was so excited when I purchased my own copy of the CD about three years ago, and little did I know that I would still be listening to it today. This CD is definitely worth the price, and pretty soon all of your friends will be asking you who the artist is. Cute is What We AIm For is a band full of surprises, you will be so excited to unwrap the ear candy that is... The Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch.

I Also Recommend: Fast Times at Barrington High.
