About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

The rallying street anthems found on Capone-N-Noreaga's hardcore 1997 debut The War Report caught the attention of hip-hop heads nationwide and left them beggin' for more. At the height of their popularity, however, the duo -- who met in prison and named themselves after two notorious gangsters -- were derailed when Capone was once again incarcerated. During their time apart, Noreaga dropped the solo discs N.O.R.E. and Melvin Flynt: Da Hustler. On the appropriately named The Reunion, however, CNN the pair once again bring the bangin' beats and lyrical heat, this time with help from all-star producers including Dame Grease and the Alchemist. The hard-hitting lead single "Bang, Bang" features a venom-filled guest shot by Foxy Brown, while the equally explosive "Y'all Don't Wanna" features a syncopated drum beat and a memorable hook. The guys lighten the mood for the DJ Premier-produced "Invincible," which features superb scratching and punctuated piano chords. Other highlights include the brooding "Queens Finest," on which borough comrades Algado, Shoballotti, and Mobb Deep trade verses over dramatic strings, and "Be EZ," a head-nodding track featuring Nas. With such a solid sophomore effort, let's hope that CNN stay in the studio and out of trouble. Abby Addis Barnes & Noble

April 06, 2004: CNN does it again. Another great album. I'm waiting on the next CNN album to drop.
