With the release of PIECE MAKER, legendary DJ Tony Touch elevates the concept behind his underground mix tapes to a new level. Touch injects this compilation with mad Latin flavor -- mixing Spanglish (Spanish and English mixed) rhymes with street-savvy, East Coast beats. With one glance at the all-star lineup of MC's and producers assembled here, you know this Papí means business. Inspired guest shots include the Wu-Tang Clan's blazin' "The Abduction," the Flipmode Squad's hyperactive "Set It on Fire," Eminem on the bugged "Get Back," and the late Big Pun on "The Foundation." But old-schoolers will flip for "Class of '87," which features rap veterans Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, and KRS-One rhymin' harder than ever. For the boastful title track, Touch recruited Gang Starr to write a song about him. Since Touch produced half of the album's tracks and throws in a rhyme or two for good measure, he's certainly earned his braggin' rights. And when it comes to hip-hop, he has the Midas touch.
