The Glory of Black Gospel, Vol. 2 is an 18-track compilation put out by a German label that is appropriately titled Black Gospel. The material is licensed from reissue label Charly, which means the majority of this was initially released on Vee-Jay. The 18 tracks include excellent selections by the Swan Silverstones, the Original Gospel Harmonettes, the Golden Gate Quartet, the Caravans, and the Staple Singers. Collectables' 2001 compilation series The Best of Vee-Jay Gospel contains much of this same material at a budget price. Les Campbell, All Music Guide
