About this Artist

Editorial Reviews

Nat King Cole recorded the definitive version of "The Christmas Song" in 1946, and while this 1960 re-recording is sublime, seek out the original. Although there is a heavy-handed use of orchestras and choruses on this record, Cole rises above the dreck with stellar versions of "Adeste Fidelis," "O Holy Night," and more. Originally released in September 1963, The Christmas Song [Capitol 1967] was reissued on CD in 1990. Dennis MacDonald, All Music Guide

December 03, 2000: My mother had the eight track of Coles' The Christmas song, and I remember listning to it during the holiday season while growing up. She finally broke down and got a CD player and asked me if I could find it on cd... well low and behold here it was, and at a good price. I brought two. One for her and one for me and family. Some things are just synonomus with the Christmas Holidays, and it just wouldn't be Christmas until Cole sing the Christmas Song. It reminds you of warm memories of Christmas!

November 02, 2000: I have had this CD/Album since it first came out. I have worn it out playing it over and over. Warm memories of my childhood fill me up...ice skating over the Christmas Holidays at the local pond, popping jiffy pop over an open fire and drinking hot chocolate. That ache in my tummy waiting for Christmas Eve. All this and much, much more...all on one CD. You can't go wrong with Nat King Cole!
